“I can run for ages, but the beep test turns and pacing catch me out.”

The 20-metre shuttle run needs more than steady running. We practise measured turns, pacing and progressive intervals so you can reach the QLD Police minimum of Level 5/7 with confidence.

“I’m fit enough on paper, but with an assessor holding a stopwatch my heart goes a hundred mile an hour. I failed by a couple of seconds.”

Nerves shrink when the movements feel familiar. We rehearse the beep test, cadenced push-ups and prone bridge under assessment conditions, then show you where to improve before your official fitness assessment.

“I need to know whether my push-ups and prone bridge would count on test day.”

QLD applicants need at least 10 standard push-ups from the toes at one every two seconds, plus a 90-second prone bridge. We practise the required technique and cadence so your preparation matches the assessment.

“I’m comfortable in the gym, but I still need to prepare for the 100-metre swim.”

Swimming is a separate QLD entry requirement. You must swim 100 metres continuously and obtain verification from an approved swimming instructor. We help you plan your preparation alongside the land-based components.

“I applied months ago and I’m still waiting on a test date. It’s hard to stay motivated when you don’t know when you’re getting tested.”

A structured six-week plan builds a consistent routine while your application progresses. We benchmark your starting point, track your progress and help you maintain your fitness while you wait for the next stage.

The standards you need to hit

QLD Police applicants must pass these entry fitness components. The same standards apply regardless of age or gender.

ComponentPass standard
Beep test (20m shuttle run)Minimum Level 5/7
Push-ups (cadenced)At least 10 standard push-ups from the toes, one every two seconds
Prone bridgeAt least 90 seconds, body straight from shoulders to ankles
100m swimContinuous and untimed, with verification by an approved swimming instructor

Queensland applicants with access to a PCYC complete the land-based assessment there, unless QPS Recruiting approves an alternative. The swim is verified separately. Passed fitness assessment results are valid for six months.
